Tommy, sorry to hear about the loss of your girl. It kinda sucks that our furry friends aren't around for as long as we'd like them to be. Love them while you have them.

I am sorry to learn of your loss. Kira looked like a really great friend. We lost our beloved Sebastien last February. I know the feeling of loss that you are going through. I know that you must have heard this before but with time the pain and sadness will subside and you will always have the great memories of all of the happy times that you and Kira spent togethwer. Thanks for the support everyone - yes she was all of that. Kira was 12 years old - a long life for a 100lb dog. Just a good natured happy, patient and friendly dog who loved to play - especially fetch with a tennis ball ... for hours on end. I only met her a few years ago, already in her golden years by then - Eva raised her from a puppy and she was intensely loving and loyal to her master. When I came into this thing I thought dogs were generally smelly and annoying and literally could not see myself in a relationship with a dog person. Eva and Kira changed all that and literally gave me a new softer perspective on life. I sat on the floor with both of them Sunday when we said goodbye and cried like a baby.
It's weird having her gone.

Tommy, I'll bet you have no regrets that you accepted life with a smelly and annoying dog and her person! I cannot imagine you not being a dog person previous to Kira. They can certainly change a person once you let them into your life. I can see the bond you had with her was very special
I'd like to add would you please give my condolences to Eva, I'm sure she is hurting terribly. I've been in that position five times in my short (ha!) life.
