Started a new job back in late July. Initially hired through a temp service and hired by the company in September. Just before Christmas one of the bosses told me that they had put me in for a bonus. This was unexpected as most companies I've worked for in the past don't pay bonuses to first year employees. I thought I might get a hundred or two being new and all. Instead they were much more generous. After Uncle Sam took his too big a share I had enough to buy myself a new tumbler. A Lortone C200. Haven't started it rolling just yet, that'll be Saturday. Breaking up some rough through the week 'cuz I'm a little short on smalls right now. Cant wait!

That's a sweet looking rig! 24 pounds of rolling fun. Excellent use of the bonus.

Thanks everyone ... In the past "found money" like this was always saved for emergencies which of course happened.
Should make cleanout day a little longer but that's fine. Don't know yet how long I'll keep the 3 pounders running. Will have to see how much I get out of the 12's.

I started my first two barrels Saturday the 17th. One has Tuledad Agate and Black Butte Jasper. Other has Royal Nevada Jasper and Sea Jasper. First thing I noticed was how much faster it rolled than my QT66. Second thing was both barrels began to swell on the bottoms within 3 hours. Great, I thought, going to have to constantly burp these things. Nope, only the first day. Not sure why they gassed up but did not do so again. Today is the 22nd, the barrels were making that too thick slurry clunking sound, I cleaned them out. Two thirds volume was down to a little over one half and all the grit was "gone" after 5 days. I don't have pics of what went in. I did have some of the Black Butte that didn't fit. Took a pic of some hammer broken pieces next to some rolled for the five days though. I think I'm going to be needing a lot more rock ..............

Sweetness!! That is a good way to spend found money, on something that will last for a very long time. Like flowers! lol Ken; you are probably too humble to say on your own. What do you do? Congrats on finding a generous company!

Congrats on finding a generous company! I did have some buyers remorse .... lasted about three minutes. I run a coater that puts latex on paper which is used in various packaging applications. Been a machine operator for 17 years or so. This is their slow season and two large orders got pushed back. No work for my machine and shift. Not getting a layoff. Instead going to day shift and training on another machine. Pretty nice not getting laid off.
