Update - Charley is coming up on 5 months old now. He's a good and very smart dog and we love him dearly but everything they say about Malinois dogs is completely true and we understand why they are affectionately called "maligator" by their owners haha. We were hoping that the little bit of GSD in him will continue to calm him down a bit. Did I mention smart? haha. OMG, do you think he'll ever grow into those ears? "Maligator," HA HA HA! But you knew this going in, right? Yeah, lets hope the GSD kicks in some and mellows him. (Maybe he's getting back at you for taking him in to get "tutored.") Terriers can always be terrible (because they are so headstrong), but the pitbulls have the attitude and the jaws to back it up. Lucy was never bad (how soon we forget, huh?) about chewing things up, but then she's not full pit, either. My sister's pit and also a boxer they used to have were terrible about chewing things until they were five or six. He's just teething, it'll stop in a year or two... maybe!
And he's probably so smart because of all the nutrients he gets in that varied diet, lol. What's his favorite thing to get into? It's a good thing he is such a sweet and beautiful dog, hard to get too mad at him.

He's just doing normal puppy things and yes it will get better. He's already calming down after getting 'tutored' LOL. His favorite thing to destroy is anything that has filling in it ... pillows, patio chair cushions, his bed, our bed, the cat ... stuff like that.

The cat - HA HA! I mean, I hope the cat is okay. The best you can hope for is that he goes through this stage quickly. I saw some baby toofers missing from the gator jaws.

Cats are dime a dozen. Let him kill all he wants, they'll make more.

The cat is fine. he is kind of obsessed with her even though all he wants to do is play, we just wish she wouldn't run ... we are training him under voice command around the cat and he's been doing pretty good with it but the other day he slipped by me and the chase was on running in circles around my 87 year old mamma's chair. Pretty much the classic cluster - you know what.

Charley is handsome indeed. Starting to grow into the paws, but those ears show promise of more growth to come. What a beautiful animal! The next year and a half are his most trainable months, time invested in daily lessons now will pay off in a good citizen behaviors and an enjoyable companion for the rest of his years. Looking forward to updates here!

Wow, Tommy- I missed this whole thread somehow, which is weird cause I love the puppies and kitties. I had to look up the breed, never heard of it- until I saw it is also called a Belgian Shepard. That I have heard of. He's a stunning dog, very attractive. I love shepards and retrievers. He's gonna be a great companion for many years, congratulations. (and keep kitty safe.... )

He sure has grown a lot since we were first 'introduced' to him, Tommy. He's beautiful! I like the scruff of fur around his neck. Love this pic of him. ROFL! Do you have any photos or vids to share of Charley playing with your cat?

Do you have any photos or vids to share of Charley playing with your cat? No - I wouldn't exactly call it "play" haha. He is HIGHLY curious about her and starts wiggling and wagging his tail as soon as he sees her but she goes into a hissing fit if he comes too close. Like I said earlier we are actively working on voice control (sit, stay, come, etc.) and letting him to go and sit close to her ... again shes hissing the whole time. He maintains excellent self control when we do this - the 'incident' the other day was due to me leaving a door open and he came through it and she ran and the chase was on haha.
