I use indoor outdoor carpet. Free samples from Home depot.... On the brass, be careful, if you tighten them too much, too often, you'll trash the seats and then they'll go back to leaking. The plastic ones from the local aquarium shop are cheap and work well. Looks like those plastic pieces have plenty of life left in them tho.... What do I need to look for? We don't have local aquarium shops just petsmart and such. Air intake valves? Seems like when I look stuff up on this I come up empty handed. My brass isn't working out anymore.

Just ask the pet store people for aquarium air valves then pick what you need. They have them from singles to 5 or 6 valves per manifold... also have the tubing, etc etc etc. There also are some stainless steel ones on ebay right now.

phil During my weekend trip to GA/SC I stopped by some aquarium shops and low and behold they didnt have anything I was looking for. I did order some of these off ebay, but theyre coming straight from China and wont be in until mid-June. Why I didnt look on Amazon beforehand I dont know (Ive been an Hebayer since the late 1990's and wife is an Amazoon snob), but I did and found these as well. A little bit more money, but I got some within a day. Already replaced the brass and am extremely happy. Now I just have to buy some more 1/4-1/8" tubing to totally redo my HP machine and hook up the machine I got from Charlie a while back and ill be good to go for some mass production (as long as my seasonal allergies stay bearable). www.amazon.com/Jardin-Aquaculture-Control-3-Way-Aquarium/dp/B008SNLVJ0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1430411578&sr=8-3&keywords=aquarium+air+valve

I'm amazed the pet store didn't have them. They're usually right above the pumps, tubing, etc....and regular tubing won't fit right.... you'll need to order the blue tubing made just for those air valves.

Little trick with plastic tubing. If it's a little too small to fit on your fittings, put the end of the tubing in boiling water for a few seconds. It will soften enough to push over the fitting. As it cools, you'll have a nice tight shrink fitting.

I do have to say because nobody told me please epoxy the rubber end to the metal. You never know when that damn thing is gonna shoot across the room and have water just pouring out that end. That is all. Carry on.

phil tubing is fine. It's the rubber black end cap that comes off. If anything I've had the water pressure too high even though I have a pressure reducer

Aha. E6000 and a snug fitting machine screw. Allow to dry well before use. That way, it's removable if you ever want to add to or extend the water line.
