about the lids on the thumblers. I still have problems with them. I have made new lids from heavier plexiglass and that is good but they have to be smooth on the outside so they don't leak. I do a good job when they start leaking. they start leaking when there is a rock inside the tumbler that is wearing the lid in the same spot as you continue tumbling. what I do is have a tube of silicone and put that around the like spot and then put a some plastic to stick to the spot and hold. then I can reuse that lid for more than the uses I had used that lid before I leaked. still doing that as my ar2 is tumbling right now. I have made lids for the 12# thumbler that are twice as thick as the regular lids and that worked well. however, I haven't had any problems with the lortones so far. only have been using the lortones for a couple of years. waiting for spring because I want to get sawing my 20#s of Nebraska blue I got from shawn. that will be an interesting project. chas

That's a great tip for the Thumlers AR-2. Mine don't leak and I hope they never do but the silicone is a great idea. My husband is a builder and he has all of that stuff laying around.

Thanks for the lid information Chas. I'm on day 3 of my first tumble. I've only checked them once so far at the 24 hour mark. Looked like there was a decent slurry going!
