Hello gang, I'm just getting back into rocks with my grandaughters, and I really need to buy some rough, I've got 2 lortones QT66, and a 33b and a Lot O vibrator. I'm on a tight income, and I just cant afford these expensive rocks on Ebay If anybody has some to sell or can point me to someone I'd appreciate it. Were not looking for anything exotic, just something that will tumble nice and look good. I used to be on this board a few years ago, and there was a gentleman in the New Braunfels area that sold me some good rough. Cannot remember his name. Thank you folks

if you break up, or cut up with tile saw, the end cuts I have listed, it would make excellent tumble rough. most of them could be cabbed. nice variety of material.

I use recycled-rocks.com for glass cullet and gemsbymail.com and therockshed.com for stone. All are great folks with good prices and shipping. I also just watch out around me for rocks on the ground and have found a few interesting pieces. Another low cost option is to check aquarium shops, nurseries and home building shops for stream bed stones. Some bags have decent stuff and they are already pre-rounded. You can jump straight to the last grit and polish stages. Landscaping quartz is another option. You can get huge amounts for low cost per pound and it tumbles out like "snow quartz".

Check this supplier for glass enigman www.americanspecialtyglass.com/Landscape/Ah, looks like their prices are for 50 pound quantities. They are inexpensive.

Best to find a local source, no postage costs and you can see if the stuff is any good. Any dealers or shows in your area? Try to find a club and see if there's any collecting around. Google is thy friend.
