Thanks liz and jean.
That is a pretty hefty investment radio although a lot less than getting a cabbing set up and a decent slab saw. Thank you for telling me about the shortcomings of the small hand held torches.

Thanks liz and jean. That is a pretty hefty investment radio although a lot less than getting a cabbing set up and a decent slab saw. Thank you for telling me about the shortcomings of the small hand held torches. I don't like to be negative, but from my past experience one can easily spend as much or more on "make do" equipment when it would be just as cheap or cheaper in the long run to just bite the bullet and get the right equipment at the onset if one has any inkling they will progress in the hobby.

Those look really first rate!!!! You go, Girl! I guess we all get the smithing bite after handling stones for so long. Whenever you get to doing it on a regular basis, you aren't going to have any problems. Well, that's a lie, yes you will, but it will be fun.

It's more that orrum got the smithing bug and wanted to corrupt me too...lol. He told me I needed to take the class since it was so much fun. I figured what the heck I was there and nothing better to do at the time. I liked it but was afraid I was gonna burn down the place with that torch...lol.

Hi flouritenut. Wish I could help you but I learned in Quartzsite, Az. If you have a local or nearby rock club someone there might be able to point you in the right direction.
