I purchased a used Cab Mate in Florida while I was there hoping to find a manual or even how this all goes together. This is a new venture for me, I have been cutting rocks on a Wet Tile Saw. Anyone have even a photo of how it all goes together or an online manual or something that can be emailed would be of MOST help Thanks in advance Susan

The Cabmate is made by Graves. I'll bet if you contacted them, they could send you the instructions, or give you a link where you could download them. www.gravescompany.com/cabmate.htm

Welcome to the board. If you have been lurking on the board as most of us had before posting, go to the visitors and members page and introduce yourself. Good luck with the Cab Mate.

You may want to try posting some pics. You will need a Flicker or Photobucket account first. If you get through that step we can help you the rest of the way.

Hi, artisianswindow! Welcome to RTH and Congrats on your CabMate! I agree with jakesrocks. Since you have not heard from Graves via e-mail, please call the company and ask the nice ladies or Peter if they will please send you an instruction manual for the unit. They also have parts for it for sale on their website if you need to order anything, but hopefully you don't need anything. There's a few members that have the CabMate, but thought I would share a pic of mine set up to use the saw since you wanted to use it to cut material. Our cat, Max, has to investigate anything I do to "his" machine. I tried to enlarge the pic, but not sure if you can tell anything about how to assemble the saw set-up. Saw set-up on CabMate (the tank line is not set up to drip on the saw blade in this pic. Have it held by a clothespin, lol. It should go behind the clear plastic piece with the round black knobs) Here's one of it set up similar to the pics on Graves Company's website. The bezel table is not on the unit. Also do not have the drip line connected to the pan. Here's the bezel table. It's circled in red, lol, since we were discussing the machine on another forum. If you give Peter the serial number on your machine, he may be able to share some information with you on it, such as when it was made, etc... I bought mine used, too, and love it - very versatile, quality machine, and should last you a long time. If you have any difficulty assembling the unit, please ask.

Did you get your machine set up yet, artisianswindow? Tinypic.com has a free image uploader and you don't have to join. But please make sure you have a good pop-up blocker to block the annoying ads. If you try to use the uploader, and use FF browser, please check out AdBlock Plus since it will stop most of them. Need to find another pop-up blocker, too...

Hi I think I am getting there, from what I can get so far is the cutting deck with the blade slot goes with the blade and then using the 2 smaller washer like pieces, on each side - once concern I have is that the blade is slightly touching inside the slot on the table?? I believe the blade is bent or slightly warped is there a way to fix this or buy a new blade, this blade appears to have very little wear on it?
Thank You, to discover the bezel table goes with the large wheel
Thank You, to indicate that the water hose fits behind the aluminum plate with the 2 thumb screws
I will now presume that the sanding dics fit on the left hand side of the unit on the padded circle. Does this padded piece come off, or does it stay on permanently?
And lastly I will say I found a number on the unit 09 0453, I am guessing 2009???
From here If I have further questions, I will be sure to ask. The pics that were posted were the best help I could have had, and the cat is cute too. Susan

Hi, artisianswindow Susan! Is your saw blade flat when you place it on a flat surface, such as a counter top or table? If it is not flat, it is probably bent and I do not want to give you advice on how to flatten it, although one of our forum members may have some suggestions on how to flatten your saw blade. If you have the saw table on your CabMate, please look underneath the table and you'll find 2 nuts. With a small wrench, please try to loosen the screws without removing them and you will see you can slide the table to the left or right so it will not be touching the saw blade. Once you find the setting you want, please tighten the screws. -or- You may try adding another washer onto your arbor so the edge of your saw blade is not hitting the side of the table. If you have to replace the saw blade, there are some that are not too terribly expensive so you may get started without having to rob a bank. I use 2 blades on the CabMate - one for hard materials such as agate, and one for cutting soft materials such as opal. I will now presume that the sanding dics fit on the left hand side of the unit on the padded circle. Does this padded piece come off, or does it stay on permanently? ?? If you are facing the CabMate, the disc goes on the right side. Yes, the sanding discs will come off so you may add and use another sanding (or polishing) disc. Might want to get some feathering disc adhesive made by 3M so you may reuse the disc backer. You may want to check out or ask on the forum about different types of sanding and polishing discs that are available. And lastly I will say I found a number on the unit 09 0453, I am guessing 2009??? I'm not sure, Susan. Have you had a chance to call Graves Company and request an instruction manual? They have a toll-free number, too. If you call and ask to please speak to Peter, if he is available, he can probably tell you more about your machine if he has notes of it in his records and he will probably send you a manual. From here If I have further questions, I will be sure to ask. The pics that were posted were the best help I could have had, and the cat is cute too. Susan Not sure if you'll be able to follow or understand my instructions, Susan, but I am glad I could help. Thank you - Max kitty is one of my sidekicks and spoiled rotten. It may help if you post pics of your set up so forum members can assist. I would like to see your CabMate, too.

Hold a pencil flat on the table so that it just touches the blade. Turn the blade one complete turn with the pulley. If the pencil leaves a mark all the way around the blade, it's straight. If not, it's bent. You may be able to carefully bend the blade straight again by hand if it's not bent too far.
Is the blade only touching one side of the table slot? Try turning the blade a complete turn by the pulley. If it touches all the way around, you may have to use a thin spacer washer to move it over a little bit. Or else you could file just a little bit off of the screw slots on the side opposite where the blade is touching. That would allow you to move the table over enough for the blade to clear. If however the blade only touches at one point, you have a bent blade.

LOL, I think we crossposted, jakesrocks! Great advice about how to check out if the blade is bent. How 'bout mine on suggesting to Susan to see if it is flat on a table top or counter. ahem....

Either way will work Jan. With the blade off, it could also be checked with a straight edge. Or on the machine with a magnetic based dial indicator.

NO !! I am too busy, some days too busy for my own good. I am going to call Peter today and hopefully get it going tomorrow, I am going to post a pic as I have some things I am still not sure on
If I cannot straighten the blade I will have to look at buying a new one, presume that I cannot use it bent? Susan

Susan, you may want to post a thread on the forum and ask if anyone may have any suggestions about whether you can 'repair' your saw blade or not.
If the blade is bent, I would not recommend using it to trim materials.
I hope we'll see some of your pics soon.

Not sure how to get your photobuckets pics onto the forum. I think several of the members recommend using flickr to upload pics. Do you have a flickr account? I use the uploader on tinypic.com. If you use Firefox as your browser, please use a pop-up blocker when you access the site because the pop-ups are very annoying. I was able to access your photo from the link you posted. The silver piece in your pic is the bezel table. Wait, my apologies, Susan, were you wanting to know what the 'spare' parts were? Here's a previous thread where one of the members had their CabMate for sale listing some of the components. forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/28933/graves-cabmate-sale
