Heated some stone and applied HXTAL epoxy to fill the voids and fracture lines. Michael has the instructions posted on his Ebay page/site. Very easy to do. Heated the stone with a 150 watt Reveal bulb. A much lesser bulb would work because I had to keep raising the light to get the temp to stop going too high. Smeared on the goop. Not much to it. I did an eight to four mix three times to cover all of that. I had to keep going back and adding more where it had all soaked into the void but other than that all went well. There are a couple of places where I will have to go back and add a little more without heating. Not sure if I will polish the lab slab or cut it up for pendants. Too many decisions, too little time. Thanks to Michael I have had superior results using the Hxtal. I have been using it on all my problem materials even on the Fordite. Some of the rhyolites with marginal polishes come alive with Hxtal. I have been using an oil filled radiator heater instead of the light. I use a 1/16" plastic panel laying on top of the heater with a 3 mil plastic sheeting to lay the treated rocks on. I check it each day to see what has and what has not been completely saturated.

I have to admit that I got my rock a bit too hot but mine set up in a few hours instead of a few days. Jim

If I'm wanting to fill mainly cracks and voids I mix the 2 to 1. I have heated it too hot and had only a light surface treatment which didn't fill the cracks but I keep on adding more Hxtal till I get it to where I want. I have never completely messed a rock up yet using Hxtal. 39don
