Oh no. Hooked on Big Sur Jade, agates, jaspers...and now petrified whalebone and septarians. The list gets larger and larger. LOL

Henry, The second stone is some kind of iron ore with limonite. I have several that I found at Bolinas Beach & some that were given to me. I like the one you've got there. It looks like the perfect pocket rock. Here are 2 that were given to me. They're about 2" long. Your first one could be whale bone, palm root, or coral. Lynn

I agree the second specimen looks like limonite. Cool specimen. Would you be interested in trading that specimen or selling it?

Interesting, if it has a little iron ore in it, I thought a magnet would stick to it to some degree.
