Received this email from Yahoo forum (Rock_Collecting_and_Field_Trips@yahoogroups.com). The sale is in Capay Valley, west of Sacramento. Too far for me to go.
Huge Jade Sale
Hello fellow jade lovers,
We will be hosting our first ever full-collection Jade sale in the beautiful Capay Valley. Mark your calendar for April 25th & 26th from 10:00am-5:00pm. We will have jade for sale from every known jade deposit with options from jade slabs to boulders, many of which came from the Howard Boots collection. The pricing will start at 2$ a pound and up depending on size and type. If you are looking for large pieces to add to your collection, this is the time to find it at a great value!
We will be serving hot dogs and soda from noon-2:00pm both days!
Please RSVP to mailto:im4jade@yahoo.com . If attending, confirm which date you will be attending and any additional questions you may have. We will respond with directions to the ranch and answer any specific questions you have.
We look forward to seeing you there!

I know Mike. He is THE JADE MAN. If he is involved it will be very worthwhile.

John, you're so right! He is so knowledgeable about jade! It was actually an hour away, in the beautiful Capay Valley. I was first directed to the house, where the women were, and had a couple of tables of jewelry, and beautiful pieces of display jade. Of course, I was most interested in rough. So I followed another group out of the house, and down the hill. The first thing I see are jade boulders! Since I don't have a monster saw (looking at Tony F!) I settled for looking at about 6 six foot tables set up with rough, and a few tubs of slabs. With a few more off to the side. I was given my bin and a water bottle, and spent the next hour or two happily wandering around the jade. Maybe a dozen or so others there. I had to get back, so after I had a reasonable weight in my bin, I asked Mike to let me know what I had. Seriously more jade than I'll be able to cab in a number of years, at my pace! As he weighed it, he commented on most of them, and told me what I had. I ended up with 10 pounds, and most was high quality Feather River Jade, so he charged me $7.50 a pound, and then threw in a couple of small agate slabs I found, and let me choose some Black Jade as well! Well worth the trip!! The sale goes on tomorrow (April 26) and they have it once a year.
