Hello everyone. Anyone here has any ideas where I can get a small bottle of muriatic/hydrochloric acid (in sufficient concentrations) to test for petrified bone in rocks?

Try a farm and fleet or farm supply type store. They should have some muriatic .

You know anyone with a swimming pool? Muriatic acid is used in pools to balance the Ph, so any pool owner would have it on hand and save you from buying a larger amount. Home Depot, Lowes and any pool supply company would have it.

Warm weather is coming. Any hardware store should have pool acid on sale soon in gallon jugs.

I get mine at the swimming pool supply. It is more that twice as strong as the hydrochloric (muriatic) acid sold in hardware stores. It runs about $8 for 2 gallons.

Highest strength is 38%.
"Technical" strength is 19% and I believe what you get at home Depot.
So 29% is strong for sure.
