Those are super cool. What's with the "polished chunks"? Are they cabs or just chunks? Why do they look different than the others?
I also noticed that the colors are typically the same. There's only one little stripe of blue that I can see. From what I remember, all of your Fordite has similar colors. Is that because it's from the same factory? Or the same clean out/time period? I'm sure there are cars of other colors on the road.
While I'm asking questions, is this really Fordite, or is it Chryslerite or possibly GMite?

I had posted this in another thread but I'll add it here. I tracked down the origin: I know exactly where mine comes from. I work for a company that makes the molds for the bumpers. Our end customer shoots the plastic and paints them. This is the paint line where front and rear fascias (bumpers) are painted for Ford, Chrysler and GM and others. The bumpers are plastic so they still use conventional paint not electrostatic like what is used for sheet metal now. "Even before we became leaders in chrome plating, We were leading the industry in advanced painting technologies. We offer a myriad of finish options, including high and low gloss, high and low bake, resist and top coat, and blackout. A variety of painting systems – 1k and 2k, solvent and water-borne, robotic and hand-spray capabilities – are available to fulfill virtually any plastic painting requirement." Here's a nice little piece (one pound) Chuck

all plastic parts for cars that get painted go through that same process. mostly exterior parts like bumpers, grilles, mirrors, door handles etc .....
I will get bored pretty quick. Thats why I just polished up that odd shape for fun. I will probably cab and or wrap 10 pieces then sit on the rest of the rough till a few sell.

That's cool that it comes from a place that you're associated with. I was under the impression that Fordite was not being made anymore because of new electrostatic painting. It's nice that there's still a source for it.

Jugglerguy - The polished chunk deserved its own photo so here ya go. Its a great conversation piece and sits on my desk at work now. The lack of yellow, lime green and orange tells me there's probably not much Dodge Challenger paint in there, lol front back Chuck

Those came out fabulous! Even though the bright multi colored ones are awesome, I rather like the ones with only a few high contrast colors- makes the patterns pop more. Either way, though- Fordite is super cool. Thanks for sharing!
