I had a reason which had nothing to do with postage. I'll leave it at that. OK. I see.

These came in the mail on Friday:
Top layer of box
Bottom layer
Both layers (sorry it has blue tint - late afternoon, and didn't edit with Photoshop before uploading...)
A few close-ups. I think this is my fav. Great color and texture.
I really like them. Thanks a bunch, Bob! You're a swell guy.

*ahem* Full disclosure time. Jean, rockpickerforever, was one of the original 5 that got in for a box. Seeing grizman kinda wanted a box, and figuring she couldn't get to use them anytime soon, Jean PMed me to send her box to grizman. Okay. So, (being that I had already made up a mailing label!) I made up a smaller box from my keeper pile for Jean for making such a kind gesture. Everyone else got more quantity (tumbling material) while Jean got higher quality (display pieces). Hope ya'll like 'em and still waiting to hear from Chuck ( grizman).

Now, captbob, that was totally uneccesary to disclose that. Ya big blabbermouth! . Did you not want me to post pics of the booty? But it does explain why the pieces I received were so much nicer (could call them display pieces) than what I had anticipated when I first spoke up for some. A fine gesture on your part, and I thank you. And all because you didn't want to waste a mailing label...

Okay, I see it. Some strangely textured fur for a cat, more like an elephant's skin. Or I guess snake skin, duh. Still a rock, tho, lol!
Jim, keep using that imagination...

Let "me" tell you what's great! The snakeskin that captbob sent me! I am so excited about how I am going to go about working with the stones. I'm thinking maybe some will stay as "specimens", soms will get a slight vibe to just polish the high spots, and some will get various stages of grinding and polishing in the tumbler and vibe. It is going to be fun, that's for sure!
