I'm not sure if this has always happened and I haven't notice, or if it's a new occurrence. The small ceramics I use are sticking to in walls of my Lot-O tumbler barrel. They completely cover the front half of the barrel. I can reach in with my finger and scrap them off, but it's messy. The only reason I'm concerned is that if they stick there and do not move, they could be trapping grit that's not getting broken down the same as the rest of the grit.
I run my tumbler with as little water as possible while still having the rocks moving well. I think I could prevent the sticking by adding more water, but then the slurry may not stick to the rocks as well either.

Thats a new one to me. I have never had that happen. It is very hard to describe how much water I use because I have never seen anyone else's loto run to compare to. I use just enough, LOL

Are the ceramics that are not stuck still moving correctly? Oddball movement can be
Broken spring Loose motor Cracked frame Fans not aligned correctly Wooden Dowell moved Motor slowing down
Done had all this on one or the other ofy Lotos.
Also too much water or not enough water.

Yep, everything else is moving normally and the rocks are getting shiny. I just added a few more squirts of water.

Not to hijack the thread or anything, but I've noticed this in my UV-10 occasionally. It's not all the ceramics and the rest seems to be moving properly. It's probably just not the right amount of water in my case, since I am still learning how to use it.

ceramics/ or any other media will crawl up the sides when too dry. Adding a small amount of water typically fixes this. Running some soap in the slurry breaks the surface tension, and is good practice to prevent this, (assuming you dont let it get too dry).

My vibe does that worse when operating in hotter/dryer location when using Borax.

I'm sure the borax is part of the problem. I've been running it with a little more water and it's doing fine now.

You may check that your lid is well sealed to prevent evaporation. The last couple of warm season runs made my vibe get pretty hot. Seal seems good/unchanged, I think it was simply the warmer temperature.

Yeah, I've had the lid pop off and it dries out very quickly. I always keep a rubber band around it now.

Hey Rob don't use aquarium gravel smalls, like one quarter to one half inch in you Loto. Tried it yesterday and it mostly stayed in the bottom and the rotation got wierd!

The only time my lid pops off is when there's a rock that's too big or i have it filled too much and a rock pushes it off. The rubber band works well for me.

orrum I used a bunch of tiny flat agate chips and it made my vibe misbehave. They went to the center and the larger rocks stayed to the outside.

Yeah, if your slurry gets too dry and thickens, pert near anything will eventually stick to the sides of your vibe. Need to keep your load a bit wetter.....Mel
