snuffy, do you do anything in your garden to prepare for excessively wet weather? Just wait it out? interesting weather patterns all over the past couple of years.

I've got everything bedded up high, for wet weather.Water drains off.For dry weather,I would mulch heavily, and water in 1 gal nursery pots buried between my tomato plants.I have lost my squash, but that's it so far.Remains to be seen what happens when the rain stops and it gets hot. Most everyone here has lost their gardens. They are not fanatical about them like I am. snuffy

Montana Madman was down that way, hauling heavy equipment-he took lots of photos of the storms down in Texas! Even videoed a few with thunder and lightening... Now California should get that rain too, they really need it!!

Definitely a bit wet this year. Poor ole chiggers have to climb the tall weeds to keep from drowning, scorpions come indoors and climb into bed with you and coral snakes crawl out from under their rocks to keep from having to swim. Nice and green though....Mel

I looked at the radar this morning- that storm system passing through ranged from the gulf all the way to Mn...looks like we will get a little taste on the northern end tonite and tomorrow, we are still way under the usual rainfall quotient for spring, it will be welcome. What a huge system.. looks like the same weather pattern we had all winter. interesting!

Hope all you Texas RTH'ers are safe. It seems Texas going from one wet to dry to the extremes. Nothing much in between. Again Be Safe !

Where I live, dont have to worry about flooding. But the folks that built in the 100 year floodplains do. Always wondered if anyone ever figured out what made those flood plains. snuffy

Yep, we live on a high hillside so a weathering the storms OK. Have a creek by my shop but it runs off real fast even in heavy rains. Thunder and lightning again right now and more rain falling but this one should not be as heavy as the last...Mel
