Material from Roy's new find - Thunder Ridge. My first cab in months...I rushed this one a little but it takes a wicked good shine. Free form to match the slabette, didnt trim anything off - went right to the wheels and shaped it up to what it wanted to give. I will get some more on the saw once i catch up on some seriously deferred cleaning and maintenance. Nothing like taking a rock the full cycle - mined it, slabbed it, cabbed it....now if I only new how to wrap it or set it. Anyway wicked cool fun, thanks Roy. Cheers

Wow Roy claim is da good stuff! Great cab and free form is great for my taste. Look up Biker Randy tut on wrapping, it will get you started really well. I started with needle nose pliers and aluminum electric fence wire! LOL. Hey cowboy up!

Thanks Diane....not going near the wire wrapping yet Orrum, too many rocks to cut and not enough time. Roy good times for sure. Adam I rushed it a bit and need to go back and clean up the edges - but maybe 20-30 minutes into that cab. The material is GREAT to work with.... Cheers

Awesome job there Andy! You've beat me to the punch for sure. I've roughed out about 3 or 4 free-form cabs up to 220 on my grinder but need to get them on to the fine sanding wheel and polisher yet. Maybe I'll have some pics to share in a day or two. orrum, thanks for the tip on the Biker Randy wrapping tutorials. I'll be passing that on to my son to read up on, he's got the wrapping interest and patience, more than me at least.

This is a fantastic material anyway, but it becomes even more being framed by the smooth lines of your cab.

I had a lovely cab done last night... until it fractured along a seam when I was removing it from the dopping stick What I thought was just an inclusion turned out to be a fracture line that was not fully heeled. Now I have a better idea of what to look for and about in future work with this thunder ridge material
