Packed and getting ready for a coral/fishing trip for 3 days. Withlacoochee river about 4 hours south. Was there July last year. Noticed bream beds 4 feet across. Asked the locals and said they(mostly Red Breasted Bream and Bluegills) were bedding heaviest in June. Was snorkeling for coral and saw what likely was a state record Red Breast. Did fish last year and caught a bunch of titty bream LOL Titty bream are so big you can't get your hand around them and have to hold them a against your chest to get the hook out-S. Georgia expression. Hope to catch a trophy bream/bluegill/shellcracker. Fishing buddy coming along too. He is building a disappearing fountain and wants to decorate it with coral. Mark kap fantastic5 Tina John Ken, come on down if ya get a chance. River at 200 and dropping.

Good luck James! Of all fresh water fish bluegill is the best. Country fried potatoes in bacon grease, bluegill filets breaded and fried wrapped in a pancake.....hmmm hmmm the best breakfast in the word when accompanied by the sounds of nature and smell of woodsmoke!

Good luck. Use the smallest leader possible so you have better chance at record (i.e. lower line class). Let us know how you did!

My buddy Steve dropped his phone in the water unknowingly. It is in a water proof case floating downstream. Will look for it today.
Caught bass, an alligator snapping turtle and mudfish aka Bowfin all on plastic worm. Forgot to do photos dang it. Bowfin a prehistoric fish with tiny beady eyes. Weird looking critter, gets at least to 20 pounds.

Hey James we call Bowlin a Blackfish. They have teeth. People here in the old days giggled them out of the drying up areas of the swamp in summer and chopped them up snd fattened the family hog on them! Some eat them, they claim the flesh isnt mushy then but I can't remember when it is. Also we call a loggerhead turtle a cooter.....

Sorry for yelling at you, but WHAT THE HECK WERE YOU THINKING??!! Ah, forgive me. I know that you are busy having fun. Please try to find it in your heart to take and post pics of your adventure. You know how needy we all are, need to get our fix. Have your fishing buddy get a pic of you holding up your record sized red breast bream when you catch it!

Apparently the mass following is dissatisfied with slacker photo status. My poor buddy is in the doghouse, moved out and not speaking to wife of 20+ years. Not sure what is going on with them, and it appears he does not want to discuss it. Been a bit attentive to him, a bit concerned about his condition. Self medicating with beer and whatever. Why am I typing w/a hangover? At least he is not chasing women. Took him to an active local Lake Park Ga hangout last night and he seemed focused on beer and being a bit obnoxious LOL. The guys took him off last weekend to keep him occupied, my turn this weekend. Darn fish are not behaving, I think Jean put a jinx on the fishing. Maybe a few photos for a preview is in order, to relieve the anticipation.

Old style recipes have become delicacies in fancy Atlanta restaurants Bill. Based on the assumption that foods were very important pleasure for the less fortunate. Soul, creole, low country, wild game, etc. Even turtles are in demand. ha
