Here’s a little nostalgia of probably one of most famous displays of the Confederate Flag. Only because of the following events that occurred.
It happens at 1:32. There are movies of this event. But they are pretty long so I post this one.

Even going frame by frame I see no Confederate flag. Was one blurred out on the side of the plane just to the rear of the ramp steps?
Someone rewriting history here?

thanks for pointing that out
I posted the right series of events but the wrong clip that shows the flag @ 1:32
it was a fairly controversial display at the time but probably only because of the later events

I fail to see how the display of a Confederate flag has any bearing on the assassination of a President by a traitorous Communist gunman. Are you suggesting the South was somehow responsible?

Well duh! Don't you know the Confederate flag also causes global warming and liberals to wet their beds?

It would seem that google & ebay have blocked the sale of anything with a rebel flag. They have no problem with listings of Nazi swastika's, or communist flags. Starting to look like the liberal cry babies control google & ebay. But they missed one seller. I just ordered a crossed rebel flags hat pin after 2 hours of searching listings that had been removed.

Ed, I was only reacting to what seemed to me to be a real stretch. The Stars & Bars are part of American history and I'm damned sick of Stalin-style historical revisionism by the Left (not meaning you). The Left can't survive without false narratives like the thoroughly discredited "Hands up, don't shoot" meme and others we see on a daily basis. People now learn "history" from the fevered minds of revisionist Hollywood Leftists. Academia might be the worst of the worst: read "In Denial: Historians, Communism and Espionage" by John Earl Haynes and Harvey Klehr.

That’s cool Rick Honestly I only posted the video because of the flag and this thread.
Obviously if the assassination had never occurred that video wouldn’t be looked at twice. But because of the assassination, every subtle event of that day, have been scrutinized. That’s why that image of the flag (along with so many other small details) have stuck with me.
I’m taking it --that the book reference is not highly thought of ?

Well, the book isn't highly thought of by the revisionist "historians" Haynes and Klehr bring into the light of day though the book is very well-regarded by many others. But another weapon from the revisionist toolbox, character assassination, has been employed against the authors but not too effectively: they know where too many incriminating bones are buried. Of course hardly anyone actually reads non-fiction books these days so it hasn't had the readership and impact it deserves.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Reuters) - One of the most prominent U.S. flag makers said on Tuesday it will stop manufacturing and selling Confederate flags in the wake of last week's attack on worshipers at a black church in Charleston, South Carolina.
Reggie VandenBosch, vice president of sales at the privately owned Valley Forge Flag, said the Pennsylvania-based company came to the decision amid growing controversy over the Confederate flag, which currently flies outside the South Carolina state capitol in Columbia.
While some in the state see the flag as a reminder of South Carolina's proud history of defying federal authority, many others view it as a shameful tribute to a time when owning slaves was legal.
"We hope that this decision will show our support for those affected by the recent events in Charleston and, in some small way, help to foster racial unity and tolerance in our country," Valley Forge Flag said in a statement.
The 133-year-old company sells millions of flags each year, VandenBosch said, with Confederate flags making up only a tiny slice of that business.
According to Valley Forge Flag's website, the company's American flags have draped the coffins of numerous U.S. presidents and accompanied astronauts on the Apollo space missions. Valley Forge banners were "the U.S. flag of the Pacific Fleet" during World War II and accompanied landing parties on the beaches of Normandy.
Tuesday's decision was largely symbolic, but important, VandenBosch said. "We do not want to continue to hurt people."
Supporters of the Confederate flag say it is a reminder of South Carolina's heritage, and a memorial to Southern casualties during America's 1861-65 Civil War.
But the flag has also long been embraced by white supremacists. Last week, photos emerged online of Dylann Roof, the 21-year-old white man charged with murdering nine worshipers at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, posing with the flag.
The photographs have prompted renewed calls for the Confederate flag to be removed from the capitol grounds, and sparked a fierce political debate around the state and across the country.
South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley on Monday called on lawmakers to take down the flag, saying it does "not represent the future of our great state". On the same day, Wal-Mart Stores Inc and Sears Holdings Corp said they would stop selling products bearing the Confederate flag.
On Tuesday, online auction site eBay Inc said it would ban Confederate flags and related items containing the flag's image from its website as it had become a "contemporary symbol of divisiveness and racism."

Hi Rick
I’ve read some of the reviews on those authors. Admittantly I’d have a hard time digesting those particular works. Although I am fascinated with that phase of history I once did a college paper on Emma Goldman.
Certainly as one studies the Kennedy assassination one gets exposed to lots of espionage & subterfuge theories. Oswald, for whatever he thought he was, played that game in his mind. With deadly results!
One other observation. Dallas at the time of Kennedy visit was a hot bed. He was warned to stay away. What I find remarkable is that the man got his caravan to end of the route before he was gunned down. How ludicrous it is to drive an open vehicle through crowded open windowed streets. That took guts and he paid for with his life.
Can you image any other president in recent times trying to do the same stunt?

Why in the hell does anyone give a rats ass about what some actor says or does? Actors are not intelligent because of their profession and my guess is that most of them are not intelligent at all. No different than somebody standing on a soapbox on a street corner. We would probably be better off if we just banned TVs. Word of mouth passed down the street would probably be just about as reliable and a lot less BS. Jim This young lady gives a rats ass.

She said it perfectly. (whatever his name is, George something I think) it does not matter what you say, you are a racist PERIOD
She also said, in so many words, exactly what I have been trying to say. "It is not all black and white like the RIGHTIES AND LEFTIES are trying to portray it. It is all of us working together, no matter what the other issues are, to take this country back to "WE THE PEOPLE".
NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. I don't like gays so I am not going to make a cake, I don't like Christians because they do not believe in abortion, I don't like lefties because they are commies, I do not like righties because they can not get it through their head that it is not good for the country when corporations are running things, I don't like, I don't like, I don't like.
DIVIDE AND CONQUER, DIVIDE AGAIN, DIVIDE AGAIN.
You know what I do not like? I do not like to get shit on my hands, but when the commode is plugged up you fix it then wash it off. Okay, back up a little. In the case of most Americans it is "call the plumber honey, my poop is stuck". But that is beside the point. You still have to clean up after the plumber.
Everybody wants the other side to give a lot instead of all sides giving a little. I am right, you are wrong, black and white. We have hundreds of little groups that want to be a country BUT NONE OF THEM CAN DO IT ALONE. If you do not understand the concept read a little history about how we won WWII. Jim Jim

Jim Jim My history book tells me that it was a combined effort of the allies that won WW2. Did not know that the USA stood alone against the axis. Thanks for slapping the worlds ww2 vets in the face. History tells me that the USA profited from munition sales for a few years before they finally decided to do something. I guess Vimmy Ridge was a different war for the Canadians. Who knew!!! WW 1.5???

Thanks for the history on Vimmy Ridge & the Canadian WW2 involvement bushman I had no idea. Plus my American WW1 & 2 histories are seriously lacking. Although, I don't think anyone was denigrating any veterans.

Geeze bushmanbilly what in the hell did you think I was talking about. The concept of WWII was we (the allies) worked together to clean up the world of a nasty bunch of people. Everybody is wound up like a spring and if the tiniest little thing seems out of line they go off and splatter their shit all over the place. Like I said, NEVER HAPPEN. And unless the Canadians have gained the vote down here you are just another talking head that wants everyone to do whatever is best for you. Jim

American born who fought with the French Canadians. This guy was a fighting machine.
