Does this stone look this gorgeous in person or just on the interwebs? Supposedly moss chalcedony

That's frickin' awesome! Like having an aquarium or terrarium right on your finger.
I wonder if they grind down to the moss like chasing fire on fire agate. Very interesting.

Wow what depth! Very interesting color too. That color is not real common in moss agate....Mel

The clear areas around the purple seem just too clear for any natural material. There are no hazy, spotty floating things in it as you would see in a natural material. Bob

I will be Doubting Tomas and say that ain't real! This person sells these rings through a company and posts on FB. I have no clue if real or not that's why I posted it here. If it is real I want some of this rough!!!

must be from a thunderegg maybe Mel? Gorgeous! That is what I was thinking, especially with the super-clear chalcedony "matrix" surrounding the pink moss.

I have seen these called "phantom quartz". They seem to come from Hong Kong. Put "phantom quartz" in ebay search. You'll find a ton of them in loose gemstones> quartz.

I've seen at shows, only called "Garden quartz" there. It is basically the base of a quartz xtl with nice stuff on the bottom from the matrix to which the xtl was attached. Beautiful ring and cab pics!
BTW, though I don't doubt that people are calling it phantom, true "Phantom quartz" would be a quartz crystal where the growth was interrupted, then continued resulting in a quartz crystal outline within a quartz crystal.

That's a beautiful ring, broseph82! Those cabs sure are pretty, rockjunquie. Looks like the 'real' deal to me, and I agree with @rocks2dust that it's quartz with inclusions. Have seen it called 'lodalite' quartz, too. I read the inclusions in the 'lodalite' or 'garden quartz' might be chlorite (not always green), iron, or calcite minerals. The Quartz Page website is a work in progress. www.quartzpage.de/inc_text.htmlHere's my garden quartz cab. 145 carat 'garden' quartz cab from Brazil

Gave in and bought this one They're all labelled as beads with a hole in the top so I'm sure I will cut the hole off and reshape
