I know I've seen something like this on these boards before, but my brain isn't working. Could someone help me out (or point me in the right direction)? Rock picked up at San Clemente State Beach, CA

Looks like maybe a rhyolite with manganese dendrites. Pretty cool rock.

It looks like dendritic dolomite, not quite as nice as the stuff from here, but very nice indeed?

Not Crestmore. This quarry was N.W. of Rubidoux a few miles. I'll see if I still have an old map & get the name & location, but I think the area is now a private country club.

There's a golf course across the road from crest more that is also a quarry and is the theme fore the club. Oak a Quarry Golf Club.

That's so cool, Scott knows there is a golf club where this quarry is and then Don posts mindat info on this same place. Very knowledgeable people in this group.

I live 15 miles from there and drive by for work irregularly. The description is apt. From the main road the course is spectacular in juxtaposition with the quarry. I need to walkon for a round of hacking, oopsie, I mean golfing. paulshiroma do you golf? Anybody? Free for a Thursday round?

Welcome to the forum amyml! @shotgunner - Yes but golf is a four letter word with me. I was really into it following college and it was a lot of fun. My left shoulder was repaired a few years back and I gave up on the golf. Thanks for asking!
