Those had to be from Mel Sabre52 - a fine looking batch!

Thanks captbob , I ran both your and sabre52 at the same time. Your batch had some real nice pieces as well. I just let sabre52 know I had some old timers real confused that I smashed up rio for tumbling. But they look so cool around my pool.

You just do 60/90 followed by polish? Is this all done in a rotary? Do you let the last run of 60/90 run for a long time to break it down a lot before polishing? They look pretty shiny!

Yes just the 60/90 the the fish gravel . I believe I had refreshed it with 60 / 90 3 times to get the shape so about 6 to 8 weeks. Then two weeks with fish gravel and my old 3 year old polish. I am running another batch right now I will keep better logs on it. But photos are hard because it's 7 15 lbs barrels . But I have add more fish gravel every time I clean and rinse the old 60/90. I know a lot of you just add more 60/90 to the old slurry. It's something in the gravel that is giving it better shaping and shine. I no longer use plastic pellets.

Thanks, that's the first time I've heard of using fish gravel. It's amazing how many different methods there are to get rocks to shine.

I started using it when you and another member were talking about using it on obsidian. Do you recall ?

Oh yeah. For some reason I was thinking about that tiny blue aquarium gravel. Duh.

Nice job on all those. Interesting process-what exactly is fish gravel?
