Hello, I'm new to rock tumbling and I just made this account. I recently bought a rock tumbler and polish grit kit from an estate sale. I need advice about whether this is vintage polish and should remain in tact or of its not significant and can be used. I posted a imgur link below as I'm uncertain if pics can be directly posted. Any advice is welcome. Thanks! m.imgur.com/a/70Kob

I would keep it as is. The package with the stones on it is cool. Welcome.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't use it ---- if you wanted to save the cans and put them back in the paper wrapper for display you could, but, I don't think they are so old that they would be worth alot ----- would save you some money by using them on your first batch before buying more

Hi again,
Thanks for the warm welcome and for your advice. It seems that the consensus is that if I use the tumbler charges I won't be destroying something historically important so I think I'll go ahead and use them. Thanks again! I'll check in later.

Welcome aboard vintagegrit. The Hi-Pol grits will certainly work. I have several cans displayed on a shelf along with some vintage equipment, but have also used a few cans with no problems.
