Fordite still continues to sell well and I ran out of cabs so I spent some time yesterday making a new set. This stuff cabs pretty easily but I dont think most people understand how difficult, time consuming and messy the prep work is before you can even start cabbing. I will let these sit on Etsy for a couple weeks as cabs and if they do not sell I will probably go ahead and start wire wrapping them. I have started using my woodworking scroll saw for my initial cuts to get manageable size pieces for cabbing After the pieces are rough cut I grind one side completely flat on the flat lap. This will usually establish the back of the cab. A lot of material is removed with the 100 grit diamond plate and this is a very messy part. Here are the flat backs with the cab shapes outlined This is the set of cabs after trimming and edge grinding to the outlines and rough grinding on the front by hand just to peak at the patterns. After this they get dopped and cabbed like any other rock. Worth all the effort every time Thanks for looking Chuck

Wow! I especially like the two teardrops with red eyes. Didn't know that this stuff was even a material! I know a couple car geeks who aren't so much into rocks that might still see the beauty in these.
