Hi, can I use Bob smith glue instead of Hot stuff glue to stabilize a slab?

Yes, both are CA (cyanoacrylates)

I would also check the MSDS to see of they are the same chemical. The accelerator for the stabilizer I use is just plain acetone (nail polish remover). I am sure they make me pay more for it than Avon does for their acetone.
