Recently finished some self collected tumbles from a few of our last outings. I had mixed results and there's definitely room for improvement, but overall I'm happy with what came out. Some pictures were taken outdoors, while others are inside. Thanks for looking! Cheers The Lot Wendover Agate, Wendover, UT Pigeon Blood Agate, near Moab, UT Red Horn Coral, Rileys Canyon, UT Indian Blanket Jasper, near Enterprise, UT Agates from Yellow Cat, UT And finally a piece i'm not sure what it is. It looks like it could be wood but it could also just be agate/jasper. Found south east of Enterprise, UT

That Wendover agate looks wonderful. I've gotta get out there & find me some!
The last pic looks much like the agate/jasper mix I collect near Holt Canyon. It's not wood. It's like a rooster tail jasper. There's such a variety there, as you found.
I've been cutting lots of cabs lately & find that I'm focusing on Utah material. I'll post a series some day. Lynn

Lynn zarguy Oh man, you nailed it on the Holt Canyon! The name escaped me when I was making the post. I wish we had spent more time there but we were with a group that day. Thank you for the I.D. as well! Wish I had found more of it, but only came out with 3 small pieces. Can't wait to see your cab post in the future!

I can see them now! Love that pigeon blood. I'm going to re-cut some of my pieces smaller now that I know what a great polish it takes.

Beautiful agates, yes. those files are loading slow delo. If you are using a point and shoot camera it may have a setting for files size-5M 10M 20M etc. You should be able to switch file size to 5M or even 2M and maybe people will not have trouble opening them. 5M should make a fine 11" X 9" photo. That's what I use. and I crop a lot I think it works like this 4×6 inch print: 800 x 1200 pixels = 1M 5×7 inch print: 1000 x 1400 pixels=1.4M 8×10 inch print: 1600 x 2000 pixels=3.2M 11×14 inch print: 2200 x 2800 pixels=6M 20X30 must be like 4000 X 6000= 24M some cameras call it normal-fine-super fine. Normal works best for most

Thanks for the tips jamesp. They do load painfully slow! I'll check the setting on the camera next time and make sure they're a reasonable size. Cheers

Thanks for sharing. I will need to pay more attention to picking up agate. Your latest batch has impressive specimens!
