Gotta go when the river is below 250. Some years it rarely goes there, others for 6 months.

jamesp, the creeks/rivers have definitely not cooperated in being accessible lately. That last trip I made up to the meet-up area was the only window of opportunity to do so...and it wasn't down really low...but since then those gravel bars have been wet bars. Fossilman, I'll be watching for updates on that coral. Have you started a thread for it?

To little/too much, gotta have a certain range.

Too busy for rocks? Hope I'm never THAT busy! It has been so sad captbob! Works been a real pain, and being salaried, I find myself working 50-60 hours each week and still falling more and more behind. If I haven't been with the hospital for over 20 years, I would jump ship in a heart beat. But with today's climate, I need to keep my retirement and great benefits. They even give me 5 weeks vacation each year. The sad part is, the last two years I've been selling the majority of the vacation hours because I can't be away from my work long enough to use up all the time off. Then to add insult to injury, someone in the all knowing IT world decided to block most of the picture hosting sites from the hospital firewalls. So the only rock time I used to have was during my lunch when I would keep up with this board. But can you imagine this board, when you can only see about 5% of the images. So I had drifted away. At home, we discovered a large amount of dry rot and ended up gutting about 50% of our living space. We are finally nearing the home stretch in putting everything back together. We hung sheet rock in largest room the last two weeks. Unfortunately not the kind of rock I like to spend my weekends with. I'm blessed that my wonderful husband can do all the work himself. Years ago in California he used to own a construction company. So we are able to get all this done for just a fraction of the cost. But it has taken up almost a year and a half of all of our free time. But we anticipate it being complete by the end of March . Then we can move all of the stuff back into the house from where it currently resides in the garage (aka my rock studio). Then hopefully rocks can become a bigger part of my life again!

fantastic5- I found this coral when we were taking pictures on the last day when we were all sitting together. From the spot we took the pictures. It is abnormal in color. On this trip LOL Loved that trip jamesp!! One of the most productive and most fun trips I have been on in a long time!! Great company, great river and great coral. Gotta do it again this summer! You still up for giving me a small spot in your boat for my loot? My kayak just can't carry enough coral (at least not the way I like to collect).

Nice you see you stop by stranger! Guess you get a pass as those seem to be some valid excuses reasons for being away.
Hope that things settle down some in your life so that you can have more rock time and even a little left over to visit here.
