Thanks James ! its looks like you touched grinded that rock all away around excellent I get some time-- I'm going have look into some of those angle grinding discs they rip some rock! It surpassed me how much speed and force using some nasty diamond is required to remove material at a so-so rate of speed. You can see how much diamond sinter has worn on that finger eating 4 inch experiment rig. The 7 inch rig is so much safer; it's all about the guards. I will say a metal grinding wheel like that mounted on an angle grinder removes flesh much faster than those diamond wheels. I have thinned my skin, but never had it bleed. Not the case with grinding metal with a metal abrasive wheel. That rock above probably took 3-4 minutes and some hard down force. Many of those dry diamond cups are bonded to aluminum backing plates for cooling. Than means they are designed to be mounted on an angle grinder and much more force than my little pebble being pushed down on it. Never came close to getting the cup hot doing lapidary grinds. Just ventilate well or do the mask if not water assisting.

I will venture a guess that you meant "surprised" and your spell check changed it. But, then again, you are from the south. Could be anything, lol.
Good to see your King Kong grinder new and improved, and being put to work once again.

Why suffer from illiteracy when you can take pride in it ? Improved ole King Kong, burnt fingers has a language to it's own Jean.
