I'm not sure. Looks brown on my monitor.Colors look like maybe Wyoming stromatolite but the pattern is broader than any I have. If that's what it is, the pattern will be a lot different cutting parallel to the top and bottom than perpendicular. The bands in your first pic look pretty sweet. I'd try it that way first if it was me....Mel

All the stromatolite I have found here has been either all shades of tan (nothing that dark) or a mix of tan, yellow and red but that is all from one area.
There is a half circle with a cone at the top (like a volcano) straight out from the base of your hand that looks like a few small pieces I have found in the round but only that with nothing attached. I do not have a clue what they are but the similarity is interesting. I had one around for a long time just as a curiosity piece but have no idea where it went.

Thanks guys,also had another friend ID it too.... Did some research on it,its the oldest fossil on earth too.. They go from 1.2 billion to 3.5 billion years old.... Pretty cool stuff....
