I wanted to ask them if they have any luck there on ebay. They seem to be selling mostly unfinished beach stones. Man, that person in Beulah lists a ton of Petoskeys. I wonder if that's the same guy who had to turn in the 95 lb Petoskey. Had to turn in?

Yeah, the Michigan DNR got word that some dude up that way dug a Petoskey out of the lake bed at Peterson park that was way beyond the allowed 25 lbs. per person per year, plus was technically off limits due to the fact that he excavated it from the lake bed, so they confiscated it. He advertised his find to the media to get attention or something so it was his own fault. Apparently, this guy was unaware that there is a 25 lb. per person per year limit on collecting and that you can't legally dig stones out of the lake bed. Whatever his reason was, the DNR followed up on it. It was big news up here in Michigan It was as news here too.
