We had a blip.
It worried me it might go on forever.
It probably will - as thats the internet.
Proboards are now investigating the posts.
Cheers all for sticking around.
Mark.

Definitely strange, but I'm glad it's over. You're a champ for taking care of everything!

Hi Mark, Please check out the thread I started in the General Rocks Board. Looks like our perpetrators started adding their posts there, too!

hey mark....this was 1 day i was able to sit behind the desk and look at the forum at work....secretary was out running errands.
never logged in...cant at work....but i watched the whole thing play out.....with the new laws and stuff around here...and the references to young adults...and the racial overtones of some of there posts....and sexual comments....if need be....maybe i can call in a favor or 2.
i know we can get...what needs to be got...they think they can hide ;D....but not really with a court order....just let me know if need be...kev.

Yes Doc hes walking fine its great to see him wobble round the living room. I had a message the other day from a bloke whos 47 whos married to his 45 year old partner - shes pregnant. I thought I left it late at 37 - thats life - god he'll be in parents evenings with 25 year old parents when hes about 59!!!! (Well my math is lets say "about" accurate but not far off. you get the drift.) I think its cool.

Mark, I am 47 and Peyton is 2 1/2, I love it. The Doctors said we would mostly likely not have children. Goes to show you what they know. How old is Luke? I saw the mess and that would only keep me away for a minute! johnl

1) they were actually pretty funny I thought, a bit of goofiness is ok by me
2) like most hacker types, they weren't out to destroy. Be glad for that. Completely smoking the board with a flood of five or ten thousand posts would be no trouble for serious jerks.
3) I'm amazed you didn't have the ability to simply ban board members; seems to be a good safety feature found on most boards. I was once fond of a board run by some very silly and uptight people, they had no trouble banning me promptly.
4) Where can you get nice plastic garden rocks, anyways? The real ones are too damn heavy!

I dunno SirRoxalot.. lol love your name btw.. But the idea of plastic garden rocks sounds alot better than hauling one from the hills I agree.. I did have this idea.. once.. never went through with it .. yet.. But you could make one .. silly as it may sound.. good old chicken coop wire for the sculpture.. or frame.. and plaster or whatever it is.. that mixes I forgot what it was called.. but then ya just put it on there and let it dry and paint it if need be.. I'm seroiusly thinking about doing it for another project tho.. I dunno just a thought.. and I totaly agree with ya about everything else.. *smiles*

The Arizona museum, near Tucson, they wanted to make it blend into the desert, so the entrance is built right into the rocks, but the rocks are all fake, and they did a really good job of it. Wonder what they used. Maybe colored spray-crete or something.
It would take a pretty artistic eye to make a nice believable rock texture, I think. Ever see those soft rubber fake rocks? Speckled black and grey, dunno what they're imitating but they do look real. I love throwing those at people.
SirRoxalot (yeah I'm proud of my name, but it's hell on job applications)

LOL.. Oh and to think I was the only who liked to throw rocks at people for fun... LOL.. I did happen to see those fake rocks.. I liked the ones where you used to buy a fake rock and had a secret compartment to hide a set of keys in .. remember those? But that museum must look awesome .. i've never been there.. but the Damn going to vegas.. aren't they doing something like that too?

"3) I'm amazed you didn't have the ability to simply ban board members; seems to be a good safety feature found on most boards." I was out all day and came in from shopping for fish for my new fishtank when I saw what had happened. Banning members is an available option - but I wasnt in the house at the time - never mind online Oh well. Silly me. Oh my oh my I am so silly.

Mark, You have done one heck of a job here. I bet the fun and games kinda blew the serenity of new fish for a bit. You sure took action. If only those folks could turn that energy into inventing instead of just mucking. Such is life. Proud to be here.
