Sorry for the slow turn-around on the box. I got the box a week ago but I waited for a good opportunity when my 2 teenagers were available to help me look through the box. On previous rock boxes, my kids were so excited to be able to rockhound in our own home and I was hoping to recreate that experience. I was a little apprehensive because my kids are now teenagers but I was pleasantly surprised that they were totally excited about the box and its contents. We pulled out and examined everything in the box and even managed to get my wife to agree that some of the rocks were "pretty". She generally tolerates my "obsession" with rocks but doesn't get too excited about them. Here's what we took out of the box: I'm putting in some Washington jade, a slab of BC jade, tigers eye, rose quartz, grossular garnet, green moss agate, Alaska rhodonite, rutilated quartz, fire agate tumbled rough.

This has been so fun to watch! The box seems to just keep getting better and better! I hope I will have been here long enough to get in on the next one. It looks like so much fun!

I haven't received a reply to my PM to richardh. How long should I wait until I skip him and ship the box to the next person?

Rockhobbit Sheri, would you be so kind as to remove my screen name from the player's list you assembled in the original post? I did have some input in the thread, but I did not sign up to participate. I think you must have thought I wanted to play, and so put my screen name out there. There is no "Jean, Spring Valley, CA" anywhere in the thread. juzwuz Justin contacted me this morning for mailing info. I had no idea I was even on the list, lol. No, I do not wish to play, have never participated, I have way too many rocks already! Sorry, Justin that you had to jump through hoops. Thanks, Sheri Jean PS - Just a thought, this whole process could be sped up a little if people on the list would PM their mailing address to the person before them? Hence, why I would like to be removed.

The box got here today. Decisions, decisions. Some of the slabs got broken so I will have to do some repacking. When I dug into the box further i would say that almost 20% of the slabs were damaged. some of that is from the gorillas at the post office, some of that is too many rocks packed in a box. The three SFRBs mostly contain scraps and they took up a lot of room. I took all of the slabs off of the SFRB sized pieces of cardboard and put them on LFRB pieces. This opened up some room. I took the largest of the scraps and mounted them on cardboard. The small pieces that looked like you could do something with them now fit in one SFRB. I also put cardboard between the slabs so hopefully there will not be any more damage. Now there is room for me to add to the box. I PMed the next guy in line and asked him what kind of stuff he is interested in so I could be sure i was making at least one person happy. I am sending chunks of both colors of dumortierite, blue and purple. The purple is kind of sparkly. The blue looks like lapis. What I got #1 What I got #2 What I got #3 What I took #1 (what i wanted) What I took #2 (to make space) What I added #1 (amethyst dumortierite) I think this piece has hematite in it also What I added #2 (desert lapis dumortierite) What I added #3 (mojave pastelite) What I added #4 (Calico yellow/red moss agate) What I added #5 (Lavis Siding jasper) What I added #6 (Lavic Siding jasper) I also put a piece of serpantine in there, but the picture did not come out. Of course I figure that out after I have sealed up the box.

Where is the box? Need an update please. Sheri Sheri, the box is in my possession. I received it the day before I left the country and haven't gone through it yet. I will be back on Monday and hope to get it back in the mail by Tuesday or Wednesday. I just sent richard a pm to get his address. Sorry for the lack of communication! ........
