Presumably it will be bought by someone selling rock tumblers and/or rough, grit, etc. Not sure I see that happening if you are talking about a NEW company. Starting a business using this domain and going against established sites such as rocktumbler.com, The Rock Shed and many others would be one heck of an up hill battle. I could see an established company (website) buying it as a blocker or using this domain name as a link to draw to their existing site. That could be very bad for the future of this forum as the new owner may have no interest in the running, or even the continued existence, of this forum! Or, they could maintain the forum as a pawn/path to further their existing business. Could get interesting. Time will tell. Was thinking that maybe Mark could sell the domain separately from the administrative rights to this forum, but then the person buying the domain name would probably have issues with the name at the top of this forum. Can of worms.

It has to be a package deal. The package has some value. But the pool of buyers is not huge. I think our fearless leader knows that.

On the forum URL - captbob mentioned it.
Proboards do a deal where the URL can be "forum.rocktumblinghobby.com" for $14 a year - that sort of thing.

On changing the forum name, I would think that would kill all the thousands (tens of thousands?) of links, from photos that come up in Google searches, back to this forum. Seems that would be devastating to site ranking if the new owner cared about such.
