Saw scraps from cobbledstones, crazy lace from beefjello and local finds. 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9. Wasn't as solid as I hoped 10 11. Melanoma?

Hard to find SOLID rocks. Those defects are in many tumbles. I cheat and often only post the perfect ones truth be known.
I sent some of my finest coral to a friend to be made into fine guitar picks. His test is to drag his fingernail and feel for nicks that would scratch guitar strings. He trashed every one of them. Coral has micro geodes by the hundreds on just a 2 inch tumbled coral. Can't see em though.
Some Melanomas will cause cancerous pits. Not that particular one. Benign. Healed.
Rocks like 5 and 6 that are well filled/healed/cast/molded with chalcedony are good tumble fodder. To be sought after. Cream of the crop.
Impressive workmanship for Tennessee fellow. Tennessee folks are mountaineers, Georgia mere hillbillies. We are a lowly(no pun) lot.
How long in coarse grit ? How many grit changes ? Guessing 10-12 weeks and at least 10-12 grit changes/adds if not pre-ground. Am I close ?

I like the melanoma, it looks like a leaf. 5 and 6 are cool and I see some Montana agate in there. Always like that. Nice work! A hillbilly and a mountaineer? I thought we were hillbillies up here and Georgia had rednecks. Can we get some clarification jamesp? Is there no established classification?

Depends on the family breeding. 1rst cousins tend to be too close for south and central Georgia. North Georgia mountain zone dances to different rules. Red necks are the cream of the crop. Pride and joy. To be saluted. Elite category.

Sorry jamesp but I tend to agree with Garage Rocker on the hillbilly & redneck categories although I do beleive Deliverance was filmed in northern Georgia. Also we don't go to family reunions just to meet women, we also like the food. This was a mix of rocks that were ready at different times so I don't recall the times in the stages.

You might be a redneck if your family reunion is held at a rest area.
Relatives are people who come to dinner who aren't friends.
But going for the beer food BEER is a reason I'm down with, lol. Old downhome cooking is the best!
Jean
ETA - Sorry, got distracted thinking about the food BEER and reunions.
Nice tumbles, especially like five and six, like everybody else...

My dear wife dated Jeff Foxworthy a couple of times in high school. He was a fixture at her cousin's house that lived across the street. She said her cousin asked her to go out with him as a favor. A redneck is a girl who dates JF and does not marry him ha ha ha.

Bet he doesn't know how to weld or tumble rocks.

Bet he doesn't know how to weld or tumble rocks. In high school he was a tag along and goof ball. The wife's cousins were jocks and embraced him as a source of entertainment so the story goes. The whole bunch great stand up Christian fellows. And all funnier than ever. There is a part in the book about his date with Denise. As usual, he exaggerated a bit according to the wife... Her attitude is that it was a date for sympathy ha ha. I suggested that she have a recorded interview with him about said date for entertainment value. She would embarrass the heck out of him(her nature) and he would love it. Me, I(the poor guy) just brag that I bumped the billionaire out of the saddle haha
