The long stretches of shoals on that river has given thousands of people great pleasure collecting artifacts with snorkels and window boxes for 50 years. I live in Atlanta close to the head of the Flint. Find that same butterscotch in chips and points 200 miles upstream from source. Heavily transported material. Classic point material for the Natives.

The oblique parallel or ribbon flaking pattern on points is always impressive !. He did a great job !

The oblique parallel or ribbon flaking pattern on points is always impressive !. He did a great job ! There is a point called 'Elk River' from the Elk River in N Alabama. Abnormally long and about all of them oblique parallel flaked at almost a 45 degree angle. Odd how Native man in that area used that obtuse style of flaking. Very rare to find in all SE US states. Looks like this point but at a much steeper angle. Calling this on 20-25 degrees:
