It's beautiful!! I've been trying to wear the soldering hat this past week and the only thing I accomplished was to brake the tip off of my beautifully self cabbed Rhodochrosite!!! Urrrrr

It's beautiful!! I've been trying to wear the soldering hat this past week and the only thing I accomplished was to brake the tip off of my beautifully self cabbed Rhodochrosite!!! Urrrrr What was the problem you had? Was the bezel too tight after you soldered it? We can probably help you work through some issues if we know what they are. I am by no means an expert, but there is a lot of collective knowledge on the board. Vic

Was using a SS step bezel. I think I pushed to hard. Guess I should play around with cheaper material first to build my skills. The crazy setting will look better with a shallow jasper anyway!

Might help to file ss corners down a bit. Less pressure.
That's a nice design and lovely rhodochrosite.

Fossilman Thank You I will use the setting when I find the stone that whispers to me to be placed in it. I am going to reshape the Rhodochrosite.
