Well Susan, you did say seven bracelets with seven stones each right? Sure looks doable to me. Enough moss to thatch a roof. Jim
Oh yeah, and it is damn pretty too.

The silverwork is too time consuming for more than that. Choosing the best 7 cabs (in awhile) should be kinda fun.

Susan thanks for the trip report! Awesome finds - that tube agate is off the charts. I've found a lot of beautiful moss out there - but never a tube like that. Been a couple of years since I went there - now you've started another itch I'll have to scratch soon haha.

Everything changed for me though when I learned to look for the yellowish/white crud on the outside. I probably would have thrown this one away before I learned that. Let me know if you want to spend a day in the sun . . . Where there's one tube, there's got to be more.

aDave , great pics! I'm intrigued by #10. I've got no idea. It's kind of shaped like some of the stuff you thought was seam agate. That photo is the cross section. I was actually most curious about #1. I hadn't noticed the blue/green until my wife pointed it out while the entire lot was wet. Dave

Wow, great rocks and sounds like you had a great trip too. I enjoyed hounding at the Lavic area although it can get a little bit toasty (although there is a Dairy Queen not to far away).

The way we stripped the areas we hit at Falcon Lake in Texas of every rock worth having, I'm think that if we spent a couple weeks at the Lavic Siding area that we would ruin rock hounding there for a generation or two!

Prolly not... That area is vast. Easy to get to. Physically easy to hound. Has attractive material. Proximity to major population of rockhounds. For these reasons it has been hit hard for 50-60 years, and every rainstorm reveals tons more materials. You saw the density of material in the area Susan showed. She wasn't the first there. You guys (u and Jim) are amazing. But not equal to 50-60 years of legions of hounds. If you and Jim go back to Falcon in three years there should be plenty of new materials to grab. Maybe I'm wrong. Have a great day!

I was being frivolous about our potential to get 'em all. Understand that area is huge. It would probably take us 3 weeks to find every rock!
