I was thinking about putting some rubber flaps on the wheel cover over the first 2 hard wheels. I think it will help to keep me dry and keep the wheels wetter. Anyone else done this?

If you are using their under wheel wetter you should not be throwing water forward. It should be spraying back of hood.

I agree with John, but also would add the perspective that if used, flaps should hang from the front of the shroud to help spread the water, but not touch the wheels. If they touch they potentially can catch grit and "stuff" and continue to smear such "stuff" on your work. Ideally with adequate water your moving the piece back and forth, up and down will spread the water adequately on the wheels.

I only get a little spray on the first 2 wheels where it is kicked out from the top of the wheels themselves. I was thinking maybe denim straps, rubber, whatever just to keep the water down. I can't be the only person who has experienced this. I use both geysers under one wheel at a time.

While it's not an elegant fix, I use duct tape attached to the inside of the hood. I use only one under-wheel wetter but it throws more water than stock machines because I have it plumbed to the household water supply. I'm much happier (and dryer!) now. It's easy to adjust the height of the tape to your individual needs. Just clean the inside of the hood first so the tape adheres well.
