okay... what did ya'll do with Melissa? On the rock hounding trip of the year and no posts in over 2 days now? The sun and the wind took a toll on all of us but I think Mel got hit the hardest by the dry air - being from the humid south. We both ended up with trashed eyes and nosebleeds from it.

We're home finally - poor planning ran smack into bay area rush hour traffic and just got home about 1.5 hours ago. To say this was an EPIC trip doesn't begin to describe it - exciting from start to finish. The people we met old friends and new were awesome and we had a good ole time. 1dave - meeting you was true special pleasure for Eva and I both - as we drove away we agreed that we wish we lived closer so we could come and visit you and your lovely bride more often. Thanks for the special rock gifts Nothing we found Sunday came close to the piece of picasso I got from you. zarguy - Lynn thank you for everything. This event was successful literally because your leadership and hospitality. BTW seeing your fireplace in real life made my day. Several years ago soon after I first joined and showed off some Pescadero pebbles you posted a picture of that fireplace and my jaw dropped. Seeing it in person was a thrill - I recommend you give it a good cleaning to get my fingerprints and drool off. Thank you again. I'll get some rock pictures up in a little while...

My Area 51 theory was much more exciting! Well clearly the dry eyes and bleeding nasal passages were caused by alien abductions. My post was in code so they didn't suspect that I was on to them.

Here's several photos and video's that Eva took for your viewing pleasure. Since the highlight of the trip was Tony schooling us on how to get a 600lb boulder out of a ditch we'll start with that Later in the afternoon we ran into a real life cattle drive - this was a thrill for a couple of Californians. We don't get to see this stuff every day Some of my best finds of the day were when I finally sat down and started digging Here's a close-up picture of the rock that got licked in the video. Here's a sample of some of the rocks I brought home. Sorry for the photo quality - snapped as soon as we offloaded and with very tired hands and brain. @shotgunner has about 100lbs of this or something very similar. Unfortunately just a tiny nugget of this... look at dem plumes Purple/green moss agate Last but not least - one for Sabre52 - we all agreed on the hill that this looked like Morgan Hill - upon closer inspection I think it looks like stuff I've found on Stoney Creek too.

Tommy , that tiny nugget is the type of plumes I love to find. You got a great one! The next photo is pretty awesome too! Here's a huge chunk of Picasso, longer than my foot. I was talking to orrum who was hounding sitting down when I found this 15 lb chunk sitting on top of the dirt. orrum just kept saying that there is no such thing as a depleted site. He was right. That is a gorgeous hunk of Picasso! I agree with cowboy - whenever I'm at a site that has been hard hit and I'm not finding much I usually end up sitting down and digging under a bush. Works every time

AzRockGeek have a look at the second video of us rolling the boulder up the ramp. Please note, tailgate... Bet the tail gate noticed it too when you guys dumped a boulder on it.. Need a giant boulder catapult so you can just shoot it into the bed from down in a ravine. Don't fergit yer giant catchers mitt. After all its a ford , not a dodge and might get scuffed when the meteor... uh meant giant boulder slams into it at warp speed.grin. He he Congrats on your successful day.
