Great stuff @shotgunner Scott (conehead) and Randy Garage Rocker . I still have to play with my camera. Looking for a background that is not too extreme in the event I miss the exposure compensation. Grey seems to be a natural move. Dark fields help with not being under exposed. I may also have the ability to spot meter and not use an average in TTL metering. Just haven't played with it enough yet to figure it out.

I'm going with a Corian® slab for the background. OK, here's the scoop on the background. I wanted to try something I could recommend to other people to use as a background. I get that question from time to time. It had to be something that everyone has access to. Soooo.......
Viola! Backdrop by American Standard.
aDave , sorry this doesn't come in grey. I'll get to work on that one too.
Seen some of those fancy toilets when we get to go to town but not many of us hillbillies can afford 'em.

Thanks Randy. Absent finding something locally, this is perfect. I just hadn't had the time to search. The best thing about this company is that its product is available on Amazon. I'll be using the link here to buy it. In fact, when I'm done here, the order is being placed. Dave

Your tumbles are testimony to attention and detail. Capabilities of machinery and abrasives. Excellent photos shed light on how nice they are. Can't hide defects with photos like those. Repeatable, this is your MO.

They're one of my (many) favorites to tumble. #21 is from Mexico, but I have no idea what location, or mine. That came from Mel, in a box of all kinds of fancy Mexican rocks. Here it is in the rough.
Sabre52 , know where it came from?
