melhill1659 great trip report & finds! Did you have to ask someone for permission to access that quarry? Love that 5 gallon bucket dolly with the big off road wheels, never seen one. fantastic5 did you find the fossils in TN? Please say yes.... The quarry is opened to rockhounders on Sundays. They just leave the gate open for you to drive in and respectfully take what want. You do have to print out and take your own Liability Release form. It's called a Bucket Buddy. I purchased it on the Home Depot website. I replaced the original wheels with ballon wheels so it would roll over soft sand. It has been a God Send. Ummm just had a thought. I need to take it by jamesp so he can make me a bigger sturdier one that holds 3-5gallon buckets and is higher for better ground clearance!!!

Be careful if Jamesp fixes it for you. He will upgrade it to be able to carry 10 loaded buckets and attach a small diesel motor to power the Diamond Blade grinder attachment to field grind rocks!!

It's lightweight and has 24 inch wheels, will roll over really rough ground. Had a plastic Rubbermaid tub mounted on it. May hold 20 gallons. May have photos somewhere. Also did well moving 25 Kilo bales on the Rio Grande ha. I hid it in the Mesquite one year when I made 2 trips there. To avoid hauling it back and forth. Designed like a horse buggy. My wife pulls me around on it, me with a whip. rock saw to be added Henry

Hard to believe that James made that. Way under engineered.

It couldn't be his, no Angle Iron!! Hard to believe that James made that. Way under engineered. Totally designed for weight reduction. All thin wall galvanized pipe, hell to weld. Bicycle wheels easy to find, holds 200 pounds no problem. Had to raise it over fences (Bob). Un bungee the rock tub and slide it under the fence. Reattach. Proceed to check out. The hoop under the platform was to bungee other stuff in a snap sack. Could hang a tent under there. It could serve as a long hike expedition cart if necessary. It had to roll over this grubbed terrain.

The terrain in most collecting areas out in the big Bend of Texas do not lend themselves to any sort of wheeled carrier. I just go with the two bucket method, better balance and don't fill them past half way.

captbob, gotta respect a woman digging in the dirt wearing rubber boots! @shotgunner you know you can't resist jeannie in rubber boots! Mark K... omg'sh did you see all that poison ivy??!!! I'm highly allergic and so is my husband so I put on long sleeve, pants and gloves and went to work cleaning a lot of it out! I showered immediately and wiped down with diluted bleach water. I have sprayed it twice and heavy rains after 😂😂 hoping to get a brake in the rain so I can spray again and put down the weed barrier. Now I have a new rock garden! When you spray it, put some dish soap in with it. The soap helps it to cling to the leaves and helps to break down the waxy coating that protects the leaves.

Wow, Summervilles are so rare out west that I never even saw any when I was living in California. Got a nice one in trade from a buddy and that's the only one I'd even seen out there. Very cool to see how they occur in the wild. Couple questions. Is the cool eye agate looking nodule on the right of the pic beneath the "Hottie in the boots" pic a Summerville. If so, that's a nice one! Also further down in the pics there is a weird coral looking "v" shaped nodule that shows purple on the upper left here it is chipped. Whatssat one? That looks very cool! Great field trip report!.....Mel You mean this one Mel? Yes all from Summerville! The purple one you are referring to is probably the one I picked up from William Holland. I'll post close-up in a minute.

The weed block is a requirement. Well done. The next maintenance issue is the leaves. They do find a home in and around. got a leaf blower- that solves that.
Did you trim the low limbs on that cedar(sure looks a cedar) ? Naw, it was the hired help. Ritz girls don't do tree work.

jamesp, captbobOMG YA'LL ARE KILLING ME!!! 😂😂😂 I literally spewed my Diet Coke on the table. I did it ALL thank ya both. I trimmed up, cut off, raked and put down the liner. If i would have hired help I'd made them take up that first piece that was laid down wrong and flip it over HAHAHA I was drenched and had to change twice! It is Cedar Jim. I did have Conn cut down 3 small trees with the chain saw the other day. I don't like those and he'll have to use our blower to blow out the leaves too. That thing is almost as big as me. Capt'n you should know by now I'm more of a Coors Light/Jack Daniels kinda girl 🍻⚒ don't even have a clue what a mint julep is 🤔🤔 Don't have a pool but that pool boy thing does sound appealing. The worm thing is a drain from my outdoor sink Silly I did all of that AND (you may not remember this discussion Jim) fixed my rock saw and finished another cab. Among a hundred more things.
