Explain that he can sell the one of the two sheds when the garage 2nd floor addition is completed.
And the window a/c & heat unit that will be in the shed!
A project like the garage addition would be a year down the road to reach completion.
2nd shed = instant gratification and immediate move in.
Whatever works for you. Good luck!

I'm actually good with waiting till spring regardless of what route we decide to take. In September: taking the kids to a show for a weekend in New Orleans; I have Girl's Rockhounding Utah trip with my sis. October: a week at William Holland. Nothing yet for November. December: Skiing at Whistler (I think that's the name of it). That will leave little time to move and reset up a shop and get any creating done.

Life is too short to be in a rush all the time. Might squeeze in a Texas ranch collecting trip after Utah if you can. Purdy agates.

Across the Rio Grande in Mexico from the Texas hot spots. The Texas ranches in the Big Bend area are the hot spots. Singleton Ranch is where hank and Jeremy did the 20 bucket massacre last year. Check out Terri Smith rock hunts . Her hubby is having health problems this years so she may not do hunts but maybe. Also the larremore ranch., Jean might do some agate hunts on her ranch. The Stillwell ranch down along the border is always open and very collectable. Marfa Texas, Alpine Texas etc are all great agate country. Once it cools down and the snakes go to bed. grin.

Mel, the shed really sounds like a good idea. If you go to Home Depot or Lowes, I think they can even put it together for you- for a price. I agree that it's a good idea to separate the cutting and cabbing business. Then, you could take as long as you wanted to build the addition. You could go all out like meviva did.

I started organizing my rock room yesterday. I have so many slabs laying all over the counter I have no place to work. Good luck melhill1659 on the revamping. Andrea

The standard sheds sold by our local home depot aren't very attractive nor big. We have a couple local shed companies that do custom sheds to any size you want and are willing to pay the price for. They can also match design elements of the other buildings on the property.

I spent the day cleaning our utility room in our unattached garage. Thanks Cliff! I'm planning on moving my Tumblers in there. This is the entrance This is the left side and pretty much the entire room looked liked this! Could barely open the doors to pull out my table saw. This is my new space I want to see pictures of your space meviva.

melhill1659 I had a thread about the build of my husbands garage/my rock room, but all the pics are gone thanks to Photobucket. I need to figure out how to fix my pic links. Anyway here are a few. The first ones are when we were setting it up after the building was finished. This is what it looks like at this very minute...told you I needed to organize it....lol. Had to go to the store to get more containers for my slabs.

Thanks Tela, That's kinda what we did for the building I have now. It's a 16x20. They built and delivered it right to my house. Who would have thought it would get so small so quick! I'm with jamesp, I love my cozy, everything almost within reach space! Con is a Go Big or Go Home kind of person an it has to fit in aesthetically with the landscape. Regardless of what we do I'll keep my "clean" area in that small building. I love it in there! The other will be a real workshop! It'll house my Tumblers, a large utility sink, my big saw, new rock saws, rock storage, all of my power tools and wood working tools. I have a lot of those! My sis is coming over today to help move my Tumblers to there new spot and put up the insulation.
