This is getting too strange to believe. I see a woman's face, partly covered, with one perfectly shaped very sad eye, eyelid, eyebrow, side of her face, small mouth, cleft chin and just the beginning of her nose. Oh, and she has wisps of blonde hair. She has been trapped in this crazy lace tomb for an eternity. There are other faces as well, but not as dramatic. Take a look. Cheers, johnw

Here is a cute bunny with a pink nose looking out from the same stone. If you turn the image counter clock-wise, you will discover the woman's face. There is way too much going on here to point out. Cheers, johnw

Enjoying looking at all these. Nature regularly outdoes man's art, and I enjoy a rock and mineral museum as much as I do a gallery. BTW, there is a name for these types of rocks: mimetoliths (some of your pics deserve to be submitted to that page).

BTW, there is a name for these types of rocks: mimetoliths (some of your pics deserve to be submitted to that page). Hello rock2dust, first thanks for sharing the term mimetoliths, its a new one for me and I have been in many rodeos in my lifetime. After tagging mimetoliths, a really incredible site, I came to the conclusion the folks looking at "what do you see in a stone" by definition seem to have an acute sense of Apophenia-Pareidolia. Got to admit that went right over my head but when I looked up the word "Apophenia": an error in perception, and Pareidolia: being, visual Apophenia, put together "an error in visual perception", I get it. Now I know why I enjoy looking at and seeing images in a stone and why other people will have different "visuals" of what they are seeing in the images posted. Kinda heavy, but it seems Apophenia-Pareidolia is an inherited part of our DNA structure from our pre-dawn ancestors. So I learned something to-day that helps explain why I feel the way I do when I look at and work with stones and I do thank you for that. Here is a takeaway from that site, it's called "Paradise Island agate", don't need much imagination to see what's going on here. Cheers, johnw

I much prefer, or appreciate, those type images to the Rorschach variety, where one can claim to see anything.

I learned something new today also...Thank you!!
I was taught at a young age to "read" tea leaves and coffee grounds and the images in the clouds.
So I naturally now do it with rocks.
