The bottles came from Michaels Craft store. They have 4 different styles. Small enough for earrings, too.

I think it's a wonderful memorial piece for her cat. Very thoughtful.

That's a really great idea. I wonder if my SIL has any of her Floyd's hair. I'd make this for her and I know she would love it. It's been a couple yeas since he passed, but she still misses him something awful. I can see it for a couple who have to be separated, too. Like a spouse going on tour in the military.

It was common in the Victorian era to Memorialize the passing of a loved one with making something from their hair. I have seen beautiful art pieces that are made from hair. It was often braided or crochet into flowers and placed in a glass covered frame. I also use these bottles for stones and photographs. Essential oil can be applied to the cork as well.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of those Victorian pieces. Love the "braided" hair ones.

Such touching work! If you wouldn't have told about the rocks, I would have thought it's some grains of silica from her litter bin Sorry if it's not appropriate, but it looks so much alike. Adrian

adrian65 Yes, the Apache Tears do look like cat litter, now that you mention it. Hard to photograph the true color of the stone chips through the glass. These bottles are several mm thick. Thank you for the kind comments. This was very emotional to make.
