Euthanize day is no fun Jean. 17 years is a heck of a long life for Spunky. This alien dog is Pipa. She has an appointment with the sonogram today. Day 28. Is she or isn't she ? It would be her first. My gut feeling is not pregnant. Wife is sweating bullets.

Denise will be in hell mood if that dog is not pregnant. Yall got a spare room in case ? She did not get pregnant first try so she is wound up. I just asked, sonogram at 10:30 am.

Hoping Pipa is PG for your sake, jamesp.
Just in case, remember that Valentine's Day is tomorrow. Don't want the hell mood to last in case try #2 didn't work.

They may be a big inconvenience, but I know you love having them! Dragging them around in bins, etc. You have so much fun with them. Of course, there is the extra work, feeding and picking up after nine or ten little poop machines, especially after they get a little bigger and mom doesn't do all the work any more. I hope Pippa isa good mom. Like for people, do they have the pee sticks (to measure hormone levels) for dogs yet? That would be so convenient!

Thanks for the heads up Robin. Could be a double header if there is no pups and a forgotten Valentine ! She just walked out headed to reproduction vet.

Testing hormones for prime time is a trip to reproductive vet rockpickerforever. $85/pop. The male lives 130 miles away. A co-owned dog so no stud fees were involved. He was a lame/limp performer. Thought Pipa was going to kill him if he did not take care of business. I was taken aback by her drive, nasty little girl.

I am safe on the pregnancy issue Tela. We are a good team at getting them to tie. It can be a sensitive situation. Helps to know this breed's personality. Valentine another issue lol.

It has been 4 or 5 evers since i saw one of those shows. jamesp I hope everything works out I am glad YOU are having puppies, in my old age i have decided other peoples pets are fantastic but i ain't foolin' with no animal.

I'm waiting to find out, too, Jean. jamesp hasn't been on since this time yesterday. I hope it means they've been celebrating and not the other way around.

Hate to say but I am relieved rockpickerforever. She is not happy. The past 3 dogs we own have had issues. So Denise is put out. Now she won't breed a dog that has genetic issues. That is the most common limiting factor. Pipa seems sterile, the rare situation. She has successfully bred co-owned dogs in the past 10 years. So she will continue to breed from the co-owned pool. Hopefully sooner than later.

Lots of construction projects coming as weather warms. Pup schedule would have been as follows: Birth date middle March 10 weeks to June 1 before they were all sold. All prime time work periods. But I have noticed she is somewhat relieved to avoid all the hard work. She just found out she was accepted for SS income. That helped with matters too. Just asked, she estimates we have had 25 litters over the past 26 years. We have lots of experience whelping. Few vets are knowledgeable about whelping litters. Denise is a big help in sharing her knowledge with the Ridgeback culture. For some reason she is often out galavanting when the pups start arriving. Guess who has had to deal with them in those cases lol ? She was always a call away. For the first half of her puppy career she worked full time and I was at home running the home business. She always took time off for the birthing. Again guess who had to handle the pups the next 8 weeks lol. Lucky for her I love having the pups.

Even the most gentle tumbling operation chips the shoulder of the drilled holes. Using a battery powered drill and a diamond countersink bit underwater bevels the hole and removes the chips in a few seconds. before after before beveled, glass rocks

I know puppies are a ton of work, but they're so dang cute it's hard not to want to see them.

It has been a whole 2 years since the past litter hummingbirdstones. I miss them a lot. I liked stacking them into pyramids when they are tiny.

Kinda psychedelic swiss cheezey looking.
