Cab was received from toiv0 aka Billy. I attached the Brass bail with lapidary epoxy. The necklace is braided waxed cotton and jute. The bail was on clearance from Fire Mountain. Necklace material clearance from Thunderbird Supply. Cost of materials was less than $0.75. Time to complete was bout 30 minutes, not counting time for epoxy to set. Special gift from a friend =priceless. Enjoyment from creating this=priceless. This my be a silent auction donation to the MREA for the Energy Fair in 2 weeks. Still deciding. I m usually good at placing values on items, but have no clue on this, so suggestions appreciated. In order to donate need a value. "Hillbilly" Necklace Close up of cab. Cabochon Back of cab. Pendant Back

Looks like OJ. No idea on price, but I like that bail. I would have been tempted to put the back on the front. Billy is one generous guy! He seems to be your patron saint.

Colors are not exactly true on photos. The white area below bail has a hint of green to it. I wanted to leave that area untouched to blend with the light green necklace material. Yes, Billy is great, plus comes through this area a lot.
I think the bail was on clearance due to being somewhat backwards. If you look at the design, the loop is to the front as I attached it. To me a bail should always have the flat side to the back and the loop to the front.

I bought a glue on bail attached to a glass cab for 50 cents at a thrift store the other day Beth. Intention was to tear the glue on bail to see how well it stuck to the glass. I broke the hook off trying to un-glue it. I had to use a lot of strength to remove the glued bail, a knife blade wedged behind it. I am 99% sure that it was hot glue. It is certainly a rubber based glue as it stretches. The glue is so durable that it endured 8 days of tumbling lol. Check it out before tumbling and prying off glue plate After tumbling, darn glue lasted rigors of tumbling. Got to be hot glue, acts just like it in being rubbery Next time I will heat it up with a Bic lighter to remove, hot glue's weakness. Funny note, Etsy glass jewelry sellers sell fine(better than mine) glass melt pendants in bulk that they could not flame polish for many reasons. I should buy and tumble polish he he. Cheat when possible . Liking that cord you laced up. Leather ? Textile ?

Yes, glue can be durable. Cord is waxed cotton and jute. I like that cord. And cotton because of it's comfort factor. The glue freaked me both it's holding power and resistance to abrasion. Glue is sorta tacky(southern description of cheesy) but it negates the need to drill and that is a plus. PS Color coordination stone to cord = bang on. Coordinated colors has been on my mind.

jamesp the glue could be E6000. It's rubbery like that.
