Since Quartzsite conversation is breaking out in other threads it seems like a good time to start the 'official' 2019 RTH meetup at Quartzsite thread. Some primer questions based on previous Q threads: Who's going and what are your goals? Where are you staying and for how long? Good places to rockhound while there? Would you buy an official RTH Quartzsite 2019 event shirt if Tommy designed one for sale in our Etsy Store? It would be fun to see folks wearing them around the shows and Tony's booth. Speaking of Tony, is catmandewe up for another Friday night RTH exclusive BBQ potluck?

Tommy, it is a few months away but way to think ahead...LOL. Maybe you will consider staying a little longer this year. I will be selling at PowWow again but that's as far as I've gotten in planning. I'll be around I'm sure.

I will be there. Floating around at Desert Gardens and Pow Wow. Probably showcasing my Hillbilly Wire Twisting AKA Cold Forge Wire Wrapping and telling Tall Tales!!! Camping for free in the desert...

We'll be sure to look you up again. Right now, we're trying to decide if we want to rent a trailer and stay at the Desert Gardens RV park or just stay in a motel in Blythe. No conclusion yet. I want to do the trailer thing. The wife is not sure yet. We'll see what happens.

I'll be there for the Pow Wow. It's in the middle of High School Soccer Season, so my assistant will generously cover me for a day or so, but I probably can't stay long. My goal, as always, is to spend as necessary to acquire the best material I can afford cheap.... I'll know more about my schedule later...

Still up in the air for us. I definitely won't have enough paid vacation days, but can probably get the time off if Elizabeth can too. If we do a big goal for us will be visiting the communities we're considering for a retirement home purchase, so our rock buying will likely be minimal. As for digs, if we make it we will probably have a room in blythe.

aDave Did I get it this time? Anyhow Dave I look forward to visiting with you and your wife! Rockoonz I tell you that RVING is the way to go but if not then Quartzite for the winter is nice but for my money Wickenburg is the one. Vlose Enough To surprize/Phoenix for all the medical stuff and easy shopping for every thing in Surprise without the horrors of Phoenix traffic.

Chris an I are driving and pulling the camper and we’re staying at Desert Gardens RV PARK full hookups and right in the mix of everything and everybody Whoo Hoo (Monday January 14-20th) My main objection is 1.) to BS with as many of y’all as possible 2.) use my new business tax ID# to buy wholesale and save a few bucks on a few things I still need (18” to 24” slab saw, several pounds of Bumble Bee jasper, a few foundry tools, etc)! Notice I said NEED 😂😂 I’m sure we’ll Rockhound too but we’ll talk about that when the time gets closer. We also have 4 friends driving up too that’s apart of my Gem and Mineral Society! Super Excited!

Wickenburg isn't off the list but we're still leaning more towards Prescott and area or even as far north as Kingman, less heat in the summer if we switch to full time Arizonans. RV is in the future but with both of us working full time and nowhere on out cul-de-sac to park one it makes no sense now.

Great choice.

This is disappointing but it now looks like we're not going to Quartzsite this year. If we make it at all it would consist of me alone doing a bonsai run down for the Powwow but that's probably not realistic money wise. Long story short our daughter who has been living in our house in Napa has decided to move to Sweden in mid January. The house can't sit vacant with a bunch of stuff in it and for reasons I don't want to get into we can't rent it out - and we have no other kids who we can plunk down there - so we're moving to Napa. Exciting and terrifying all at the same time. The house is newer but it's also had young adult kids and their roommates living in it for five years so it has to be renovated with floors and paint upstairs and down. It also has a nice big modern garage compared to what I've been working in but it's packed with stuff and it's going to be a daunting task clearing it out and building my new workshop. We've decided that we have a space there in our micro-backyard for my 18" saw which means I'm taking the rock pile so my last few days have been spent furiously sorting my rocks into three piles... taking it, selling it, and discarding it. It always surprises me how much complete crap I drag home that isn't even worth selling

I must qualify the like. I'm sorry you won't be able to do Q this year, but sounds like you will have enough on your plate.
Once the house in Napa is cleaned out and renovated, no more adult children moving in, right?
ETA - Understand about being surprised by how much crap we bring home. I think we're all guilty of it, lol.
