Tommy I can do the photoshop work if you send me the RTF graphic and a quick description of what you want (Scribble a sketch and take a picture). I still have CS6 on the non-subscription model so I'm in the same boat as you. Don't do enough on it to justify the subscription. Sorry about your harddrive, that is THE WORST.

Thank you Susan, fortunately I am back. Windows crashed and became completely non-responsive so I rebooted and the computer got stuck in an endless loop of booting up to the windows logo then rebooting again Thankfully I was able to get Windows repair to come up and after it sat working for over three hours it fixed whatever was wrong and came back to life. Yeah, same here - CS6 and no way no how I'm going to get sucked into a subscription. I also have MS Office 2007 with ALL the programs and although I only use Excel and Word I'd be sick if I lost it. Sheesh...

Did a drive-by today, on our way to Tucson. Some vendors have already started to arrive...or so it appeared.

I think that is the only view of Q I have seen where there weren't 75 dirt surfers stealing everything they can.

Well y'all might be SOL anyway because I woke up to a crashed Windows/hard drive this morning If I lose my old version of Photoshop my designing days are effectively done. When it rains it pours Nope. There are free versions and some are even browser based. All can do the simple stuff we can do

No Quartzite for me this year. Like Tommy, I'm in a move to a new downsizing house. The rocks are going with me but it will take awhile for the saws to have power in their new home. There will be orphaned rocks, but lets assume my needs have changed since they were obtained. Retire to New Mexico, its cool enough in the summer to survive and cold enough in the winter to keep most folks from moving here. Low human density results in lots of pluses.

Well, shit. Thoughtful discussion with my lovely jeannie reveals that we may be absent also. We will know more soon. She is on the path to get a bionic knee. Imaging is complete and we see the surgeon Thursday next week. Surgery schedule will control our fun trips.

Well shit is right, but then, think how much more rockhounding she'll want to do once the knee is fixed!

I want you to know, I love that my friends feel free to kick my butt sometimes. Mark K - well done. You have both jeannie and I laughing our asses off. And Susan Bluesky78987 thank you for your positive thoughts. Indeed, thats the goal. This started when hiking with Tommy and his beautiful bride. We did a 6 mile (ish) round trip that completely destroyed her. After that a walk around the block is excruciating. We aren't blaming Tommy and Eva. That's just how it went down. Injuries from nearly 40 years ago are the origin of today's pain. We will beat this.

We didn't realize until this moment that it was so bad - from that day. What makes it even worse is we were all going in the wrong direction and didn't find a single rock worth collecting. A little more homework could have made all the difference. It's one of those days I'd take a do-over on if we could.

No regrets. Nothing but memories and friendship. jeannie has her own stories. Ask her about the rattlesnake I found her It was a glorious hike no doubt - and it kicked our asses too - but you never want to hear of a friend in lingering pain. I volunteer to have Jeannie's new bionic knee powered foot planted on my ass for taking us in that direction - thinking I knew what I was doing.

well, I chime in here finally. We're planning to be there, staying at the Motel 6 in Blythe. One of these years we'll get down there with the camper but this year would just be too much going on. If it works out I may run down for a day or two right after the first of the year as well. Sure sorry to hear about jeannie having knee trouble. Good luck with the surgery if it becomes necessary. My doctor was giving me some grief and I told him we worked hard, played hard, wore out our bodies and now they're giving up on us. Looking forward to getting out of the snow and seeing you all down there next month. Russ

A visit to the surgeon indicates surgery no sooner than March. Unless he gets a cancellation. So still up in the air.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to Qz during the Pow Wow Jan 16-20. I don't NEED to buy (many) more rocks, but want to plan my trip around QIA club hounding trips. Their calendar doesn't list what or where. Does anybody have a link to share or know the schedule? TIA Lynn
