Nice job. Like the stone, never heard of it before. Some call it MN tiger eye, not as showy. Sometime bingamite and silkstone will be together in the same stone.

One of my favorites there. Hadn't heard of it either before discovering Binghamite (online) a few years ago. The range of colors and the patterns in Silkstone are as pretty as anything out there. Mostly golds to chocolate browns, but there are some other really rare colors, right? I'm a sucker for chatoyant stones anyway, but your ring is really nice.
Took a Silkstone pendant stone (in progress) to a rock club meeting 7-8 years ago so some people could see it. A newer member liked it so much she made me sell it to her then and there. Wouldn't even let me finish it. Said it spoke to her just the way it was. The stone spoke to her, and she was speaking my language, so it went home with her that day.

Yes it can come in odd colors, being the Iron range there can be reds and purples but mostly the tans and browns. Can be stunning if mixed in with the bingamite. Sounds like the lady got what she wanted, wonder if she did anything with it or just carrying it around for energy?

Don't know what that lady did with that stone. She wasn't around long - I think they moved not long after that. It was a nice one, all it needed was a little edge cleanup and a polish.

Nice setting and a good looking combo with the stone. First I have heard of Silk Stone...
