I went out for a kayak ride to collect some pudding stones and Petoskey stones today. I spent six hours on the water and had a blast. I also found a fossil that I've never seen before. I thought it was a piece of favosite, which is pretty common, but it has that Fibonacci pattern on it like sunflowers and pinecones, among other things, have. Any idea what it might be? Back:

Yeah, it does. I’m no sure the size is right though.

I went to the fossil forum right after here and they identified I as the same thing, Ali. I guess they can be small.

Well I learned a new word. Had to look up "Fibonacci". That is pretty cool and rare considering how many times you have searched that beach without seeing one.

My daughter once had a Vi Hart party at college where they just watched Vi Hart videos. I had different kinds of parties in college, but then again, Vi hadn't been born yet and neither had YouTube. Here's one of her videos on Fibonacci numbers in nature.
